Patrick and his buddy headed up to Door County, Wisconsin for a weekend of camping—just two friends escaping the noise of everyday life. After the fire died down and the woods settled into that perfect nighttime quiet, they wandered out to the shoreline to take in the sky. With no city lights for miles, the Milky Way rose overhead in a blaze of purples, pinks, and golds, so bright it almost looked painted on. They stood there for a long time, silhouettes against the glow of the galaxy, talking about everything and nothing, letting the moment stretch. It was one of those nights where the world feels both impossibly big and perfectly peaceful—just two friends, a crackling campfire, and the universe unfolding above them.
