While driving the Beartooth Highway, the very weekend it opened in 2024, we decided to keep going all the way to Cooke City, Montana. Fresh snow still blanketed the edges of the road, and that's where we spotted this beautiful red fox trotting calmly through the drifts as if it owned the whole mountainside. Moments like this—quiet, wild, and completely unexpected—are precisely why we chase these roads.
